Allentown Bomb Squad, City of Allentown Hold Special Egg Hunt for Camp I CAN! Kids

A group of youngsters enjoyed an extra day of eggcellent fun on Monday thanks to the Allentown Fire Department Bomb Squad and the City of Allentown.

The bomb squad and the city held a special Easter egg hunt for children from Sights for Hope’s Camp I CAN! program. The children also checked out the squad’s video-equipped robot.

The campers hunted special plastic eggs that beep and redeemed them for candy treats. The bomb squad created the eggs to keep their wiring skills sharp.

Sights for Hope’s Camp CAN! summer program gives children who live with visual impairments or blindness opportunities to enjoy new experiences, develop adaptive skills to live independently as adults, and make a difference in their communities.

The two-week Camp I CAN! in July features several hands-on activities, fun trips to destinations, and a community service project. Additional events, such as the Easter egg hunt, are held for the campers throughout the year.
