Sights for Hope is an independent nonprofit organization with IRS 501(c)(3) status that is funded from several critical sources. We are able to provide our services at little or no cost because of this support.
Private Contributions
More than 40% of our funding consists of private contributions – including gifts, grants, contributions from our annual C. Well Sweepstakes, and proceeds from special events. Our supporters include individuals, groups, companies, Lions Club groups, estates, foundations, and United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley.
Government Funding
We receive funding for services and grants from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, as administered through the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind (PAB); the Lehigh County Office of Aging and Adult Services; the Northampton County Grow NORCO program; and the Monroe County Human Services Development Fund.
Additional Services Revenue
We receive reimbursements for children’s vision screenings in Monroe County from the Pocono Mountains United Way, revenue through sales of guided transport service tickets, and revenue from sales of assistive technologies. We also receive reimbursements from the Pennsylvania Bureau of Blindness and Visual Services (BBVS) for select client and patient services and assistive technologies.
Endowment Support
The Sights for Hope Endowment Foundation is an affiliated nonprofit organization with its own 501(c)(3) status and Board of Directors. Its mission is to support our organization’s mission. The endowment provides support annually for our operations.
