Clients to Start 2021 with Experiences for their Minds, Bodies, and Spirits

The Center for Vision Loss will open 2021 with experiences that promote personal independence in clients’ minds, bodies, and spirits throughout January.

Clients’ minds will engage through weekly Tech Talk sessions, January’s peer support group sessions, and the month’s Crafters Corner activity. Their bodies will be nourished by a lesson on cooking meals in a foil pouch, strengthened by a socially-distanced exercise session, and protected through a class on traveling safety in wintry outdoor conditions. Their spirits will be inspired by the agency’s monthly Spotlight On Independence session – during which a client shares their tale of triumph – and an introduction to meditation.

The Center for Vision Loss has adapted most of its services for remote delivery since the start of the global COVID-19 pandemic. Its January in-person programs will have strict participation limits due to updated state regulations. The cooking lesson will be held twice to allow more clients to participate.

All classes and activities are listed below. Additional details are available in the agency’s January activities bulletin. All programs that are not designated for specific groups are open to all clients. The agency will be closed on Friday, Jan. 1, in observance of New Year’s Day and on Monday, Jan. 18, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
