Our Definitions of Success

Sights for Hope’s purpose is to remove barriers from the lives of people who live with visual impairments and blindness in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley and Monroe County. Therefore, our definitions of success reflect the removal of those barriers.

On a yearly basis, we seek to increase the number of people we serve; to increase the number of services we provide in primary categories; and to achieve a rate of at least 75% in fundamental outcomes, as evaluated by our clients. These outcomes include the following.

  • The percentage of clients who increase their ability to perform daily activities.
  • The percentage of clients who reside outside of assistive living facilities.
  • The percentages of clients who increase their access to medical care, food, and other critical needs in their communities.
  • The percentage of clients who make better use of their existing sight.
  • The percentage of clients who gain a greater acceptance of their visual impairments.
