Donors Hold the Key to Unlocking $1,000 Contribution on Tuesday, December 2

The number that will matter most for Sights for Hope on Tuesday, December 2, is 1,000.

That is because Sights for Hope will earn a $1,000 matching contribution if donors give $1,000 to it on Giving Tuesday through the AllOne Charities Give Day platform.

The Give Day program draws nonprofits from across Northeastern and North Central Pennsylvania into a single day of online philanthropy, with matching funds designed to encourage community participation. Sights for Hope’s donors have helped the organization earn the $1,000 match in each of the past four years.

“When we reach this threshold annually, it is meaningful before our donors hold the key to it and unlock it,” said Dennis Zehner, Executive Director and CEO for Sights for Hope. “We are thankful to those supporters who take this opportunity to double the hope.”

The Give Day promotion is held annually on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, which has become known globally as Giving Tuesday. The Giving Tuesday movement was started to encourage people to support the causes they hold dear during the winter holiday season.

Sights for Hope empowers people to overcome the challenges of vision loss and promotes healthy eyesight throughout Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley and Monroe County. Sights for Hope educates people with limited or no vision about adaptive skills, improves their access to essential services, boosts their confidence and emotional well-being, and helps them obtain assistive devices. Sights for Hope also connects pre-kindergarten children to eye care and teaches people how to keep their eyes strong and safe. Founded in 1928, Sights for Hope is a member of the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind (PAB) and the national VisionServe Alliance.
