Donors Help Sights for Hope Earn More from Give Day Campaign
Sights for Hope’s donors helped the organization earn a $1,000 match Tuesday during this year’s AllOne Charities Give Day 24-hour campaign.
Described as a “movement of radical generosity,” the Give Day campaign is held by AllOne Charities on Giving Tuesday – a global event on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to promote philanthropy during the winter holiday season. By raising at least $1,000 through the Give Day platform, Sights for Hope earned a $1,000 matching contribution.
Based in Wilkes-Barre, PA, AllOne Charities works to enhance the present healthcare delivery system of northeast and north central Pennsylvania. Sights for Hope helps increase access to healthcare through its guided transport service. Sights for Hope was one 60 organizations in northeastern Pennsylvania to participate in this year’s Give Day campaign.
Sights for Hope empowers people with visual impairments and blindness to break down barriers to brighter lives and promising futures. Its services strengthen skills, deliver supports, and champion solutions that advance personal independence and quality of life. While Sights for Hope focuses on individuals, its work also improves public health, combats generational poverty, and promotes early childhood literacy. Sights for Hope is a community-funded organization founded in 1928 from a challenge made by Helen Keller, and is proud to carry that tradition forward in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley and Monroe County. Sights for Hope is a member of the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind (PAB) and the national VisionServe Alliance.
