Bikers for Sight Ride Hits the Road Again with More Riders and Greater Impact
More than 60 motorcycle riders took to the roads of Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains on Saturday and created lifelong memories for their passengers as Sights for Hope held its 2026 Bikers for Sight Ride, presented by PABikerLawyer.com.
Formatted as a group ride led by the Northeast PA Inter Club, the second annual fundraiser gave more Sights for Hope clients, who are blind or live with permanent visual impairments, opportunities to ride as passengers. It also gave more bikers the chance to share their love of the open road with people who otherwise might not be able to experience it.
The ride began at Pocono Mountain Harley-Davidson in Tannersville, PA, and covered approximately 45 miles through Monroe County before ending at Blue Ridge Estate Vineyard & Winery in Saylorsburg, PA. The ride was followed by a barbecue lunch, tricky tray auction, and performance by Limitless, Sights for Hope’s client-led band.
Proceeds benefited Sights for Hope and its services, which build capabilities and confidence in people who are blind or have visual impairments, equip children to read in kindergarten, and enrich people’s lives with habits that protect their eyesight. Sights for Hope has served Monroe County since 2003 and the Lehigh Valley since 1928. This year’s event increased rider participation and more than $15,000.
“The Bikers for Sight Ride means more to Sights for Hope and the people we serve than just the important funding it provides,” said Dennis Zehner, Sights for Hope’s Executive Director and CEO. “It is an experience that uplifts the spirits of bikers and our clients and reflects a focus on what people can do when faced with challenges. The clients who rode and those who played two solid sets of rock classics showed that a loss of vision does not have to mean a loss of joy, confidence, or capability.”
PABikerLawyer.com was the ride’s Presenting Sponsor for the second consecutive year. The ride also was supported by Venue Sponsors Pocono Mountain Harley-Davidson and Blue Ridge Estate Vineyard & Winery; Gold Sponsors Phil and Bobbie Burks and the Greater Lehigh Valley Independent Practice Association; Silver Sponsors Active Learning Centers and Lehigh Valley Martial Arts and Pocono Eye Associates; Bronze Sponsor Best Auto Service & Tire Center; and Community Sponsors Buckno Lisicky & Company, Working Dog Press, and Grumpy’s BBQ Roadhouse.
The Bikers for Sight Ride was created in 2025 by Sights for Hope and the Northeast PA Inter Club, an association of motorcycle clubs based in the Pocono Mountains. The event was inspired by Sights for Hope client Wendy Smentkowski, who rode as “Gladiator” with the Christian Motorcyclists Association. The Inter Club recruited bikers to participate and organized the ride.
