Sights for Hope Welcomes Risthika Neopaney to its Prevention Services Team
Sights for Hope has welcomed Risthika Neopaney as its newest Lehigh Valley Prevention Specialist.
Neopaney is a Lehigh University graduate student in Public Health. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Public Health from Slippery Rock University in December 2025 after just two-and-half years of study. She is fluent in English, Nepali, and Hindi.
In addition to her volunteer and internship experience, Neopaney worked as the STEM Coordinator for Pittsburgh Miller Pre-K–5, a specialty public school that promotes the history and culture of people of African descent, where she taught math, science, and English. She also has experience organizing suicide prevention trainings and town hall meetings about mental health issues for the Bhutanese community in the Harrisburg, PA, area.
Sights for Hope’s Prevention Services include free vision screenings for pre-kindergarten children; community education programs, including its flagship program, C. Well Bunny Goes to School; and its Focused Futures partnerships, which assist qualifying families of children ages 0-6 receive free or reduced-cost eye exams and glasses.
Sights for Hope’s vision screenings are conducted with an advanced hand-held Spot Vision Screener that is highly accurate in the determination of conditions such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatisms, strabismus, and amblyopia.
Sights for Hope empowers people to overcome the challenges of vision loss and promotes healthy eyesight throughout Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley and Monroe County. Sights for Hope educates people with limited or no vision about adaptive skills, improves their access to essential services, boosts their confidence and emotional well-being, and helps them obtain assistive devices. Sights for Hope also connects pre-kindergarten children to eye care and teaches people how to keep their eyes strong and safe. Founded in 1928, Sights for Hope is a member of the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind (PAB) and the national VisionServe Alliance.
