Elizabeth Santiago Joins Sights for Hope as a Lehigh Valley Caseworker
Elizabeth Santiago joined the Sights for Hope team on December 3 as a full-time Lehigh Valley Client Caseworker.
Santiago was a caseworker for Northampton County Children & Youth Services from 2023-2025. She also credits her 10 years of medical industry experience for deepening her appreciation and understanding of people and their needs. During that decade, she worked as an Emergency Drug Kit Technician for Heartland Pharmacy of PA and as a customer service representative for UnitedHealth Group in partnership with AARP.
Santiago holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from East Stroudsburg University and an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice from Northampton Community College.
Sights for Hope’s caseworkers are responsible for guiding its clients toward the skills, supports, and solutions that best improve their quality of life. Caseworkers produce individualized service plans and periodic evaluations of their clients’ needs, assist with functions such as reading mail and paying bills, provide occasional transportation assistance, perform basic home repairs to improve safety, and help clients obtain other essential services. Casework services in English and Spanish are available in the Lehigh Valley and Monroe County.
Sights for Hope empowers people to overcome the challenges of vision loss and promotes healthy eyesight throughout Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley and Monroe County. Sights for Hope educates people with limited or no vision about adaptive skills, improves their access to essential services, boosts their confidence and emotional well-being, and helps them obtain assistive devices. Sights for Hope also connects pre-kindergarten children to eye care and teaches people how to keep their eyes strong and safe. Founded in 1928, Sights for Hope is a member of the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind (PAB) and the national VisionServe Alliance.
