Sights for Hope Welcomes Sylvia Keverenge to its Client Casework Team


Sights for Hope has welcomed Sylvia Keverenge to its team as a full-time Lehigh Valley Client Caseworker.

A native of Kenya who came to the United States 20 years ago, Keverenge has several experiences in the social service sector. She has worked as a Case Manager for New Bethany Ministries in Bethlehem, PA, from 2022-2024; a Crisis Intervention Specialist for Cornerstone Family & Counseling Center in Elizabeth, N.J., from 2022-2025; and a Lead Care Coordinator for PursueCare, a telehealth company, from 2024-2025. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Social Work from Grand Canyon University and is an intern at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg’s emergency room psychiatric unit.

Keverenge is also a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lehigh Valley and co-founder of UnityPallet Productions, a company that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion through art, culture, and international engagement. She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the United States International University.

Sights for Hope’s caseworkers are responsible for guiding its clients toward the skills, supports, and solutions that best improve their quality of life. Caseworkers produce individualized service plans and periodic evaluations of their clients’ needs, assist with functions such as reading mail and paying bills, provide occasional transportation assistance, perform basic home repairs to improve safety, and help clients obtain other essential services. Casework services in English and Spanish are available in the Lehigh Valley and Monroe County.

Sights for Hope empowers people to overcome the challenges of vision loss and promotes healthy eyesight throughout Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley and Monroe County. Sights for Hope educates people with limited or no vision about adaptive skills, improves their access to essential services, boosts their confidence and emotional well-being, and helps them obtain assistive devices. Sights for Hope also connects pre-kindergarten children to eye care and teaches people how to keep their eyes strong and safe. Founded in 1928, Sights for Hope is a member of the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind (PAB) and the national VisionServe Alliance.
