Sights for Hope Endowment Seeks New Board Members from its Communities
The Sights for Hope Endowment Foundation is offering community members an opportunity to help ensure that people with visual impairments can overcome the barriers to independence in perpetuity.
The endowment seeks new board members from the Lehigh Valley and Monroe County. Qualities valued in a board member include a knowledge of financial markets and investment opportunities, strategic planning skills, and an appreciation for Sights for Hope’s mission and vision.
While it is affiliated with Sights for Hope, the endowment is a separate nonprofit organization. Its purpose is to provide funding opportunities based on best investment practices to secure Sights for Hope’s strength in the present and sustainability in the future. The endowment is worth approximately $2.8 million currently.
Endowment board members oversee the foundation’s investments with two contract portfolio managers and determine the support that it provides to Sights for Hope annually. Board members secure three-year terms without a limit to the number of consecutive terms.
Endowment board members must live in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh, Northampton, and Monroe counties. Interested candidates are asked to send a resume or summary of qualifications to endow@sightsforhope.org.
